Christmas Card 1972

Haven't had any broken bones, accident or falls
Won no medals, or special awards
Received no startling calls.

But life is simple
    (new bike for Jim)
And life is fun,
     (surfing for John)

It's even thrilling
      (two batches of kittens)
Though our work's never done!
       (who's is?)

The girls play piano,
       (begrudgingly, of course)
And love fancy clothes.
        (all kinds)

We've seem grand attractions
(Knott's berry, Disneyland, Sea World, the Zoo...)
Even went camping and froze.
         (all but John)

Richard's free from the 8 to 5,
          (was usually 8 to 8)
Starting out on his own.
           (looks and feels just great)

Janet keeps everything running smooth,
            (well, running anyway)
And so--another year has flown.
            (too fast as usual)

May your New Year be fillled with love and the joys of work and play.
We hope this Christmas finds you well.
HAVE A VERY HAPPY DAY!

On the Christmas card that I had sent to Jeanne and Mom I wrote that Jimmy was having a slumber party "tonight, if you can imagine at 6 years old,  he felt deprived because the rest of us have parties."

We did have a lot of ward parties at our house because of that big play room upstairs.  It was ideal for having large groups.   The girls probably had slumber parties, too.  I do not remember Jimmy's party but I think this is interesting.  We had the big TV in the playroom plus it was a flat carpet so it was a great room for playing with cars, games or whatever and plenty of room for sleeping bags or sleeping on the couch.

At a ward program!

I made this for the Christmas party, do not know what possessed me.
