Richard took John and Linda to Las Vegas with him one weekend before Christmas. He likes to check in on his Mom and Miriam's family. On the Christmas card to Vida I had thanked her for tending John and Linda and commented how much they had enjoyed themselves. I also said that Maria really enjoyed being the big wheel at home but also missed them because she kept asking for them. Vida had a huge can full of tinker toys at her home and the children loved playing with them. The children loved going with Richard, he always made things fun.
I did not write a letter for Christmas but we did get this little card sent--the front had a pix of a tree branch and said Seasons Greetings and there was one place left to write a short note. It folded up from one sheet to make a card. Richard used someone from his business to take these pictures.
Richard was always so good at communicating with his Mom and Miriam's family and liked to make frequent trips just to assess the situation and see what was needed. He said he would just sit in Miriam's home and visit and that was how he found out how they all were and what the problems might be. It often worked out better for him to just go alone and take some of the children for a quick weekend trip.
